The Faraway Stories by Enid Blyton

What are the stories about . . . ?

The stories are about the "Faraway Tree" which grows in "The Enchanted Wood" in England. Magical folk live in the tree and over time they get to know three children who live nearby, Jo, Beth, and Frannie. The tree is a special tree because it is soooooo tall that it reaches into the clouds and if you climb to the top you can visit different "lands" that arrive periodically, like a train arrives at a station, and then the "lands" move on.

While the land is stationary, at the top of the tree, you can visit and experience it but you must leave before the "land" moves on or you will never be able to go home again.
